1、 Main container material and type
- Plastic bottles
Common materials:
PET: High transparency, light weight and chemical resistance, suitable for gel water and lotion bottles (such as bottle blowing process).
PP/PE: Environmentally friendly and can directly contact the contents, commonly used for cream bottles (injection molding).
Acrylic (PMMA): high permeability but poor chemical resistance, requiring an inner liner barrier and high cost.
AS/ABS: AS has better transparency than ABS and good toughness, and is commonly used in lotion bottles.
Process characteristics:
Injection molding: used for thick walled containers (bottle caps, pump heads).
Blowing bottle: used for thin-walled bottle (lotion bottle, washing bottle).
Decorative techniques: UV screen printing (strong three-dimensional effect), hot stamping/silver (suitable for hard surfaces).
Cost: Injection molds cost 8000-20000 yuan, with a minimum order quantity of 3000-10000 pieces.
- Glass bottle
Application scenarios:
Skin care products: cream (wide mouth bottle with plastic cover), essence liquid (narrow mouth bottle with pump head)
Perfume/essential oil: dark glass (brown/black) anti ultraviolet, equipped with dropper or spray pump
Process and Protection:
Surface treatment: sanding, spraying, silk screen printing (high-temperature ink is not easy to peel off).
UV protection technology: adding cerium oxide (CeO ₂) or coating titanium dioxide film, with a barrier rate>95%.
Disadvantages: Heavy and fragile, requiring shockproof packaging (paper tray+color box) for transportation.
- Tube
Structural type design:
Single layer/double-layer: economical, with average impermeability.
Five layer composite pipe: containing a barrier layer to prevent oxygen permeation (suitable for active ingredient products).
Caliber and capacity: 13 # -60 # calibers, 3-360ml capacity (e.g. 60ml using calibers below 35 #).
Tail sealing process: Straight line/star dot tail sealing, date code can be printed.
Minimum order quantity: 5000-10000 pieces, with a focus on reducing costs through public molds.
- Distributor/pump head
Functional classification:
Spray pump: the liquid output is 0.1 – 0.2ml/time (perfume, spray).
Lotion pump: the liquid output is 0.28 – 3.1ml/time (face cream, detergent).
Foam pump: non air filled, directly press to produce foam (facial cleaning product).
Components: springs, glass bead valves, straws, etc., require rust prevention treatment.
Minimum order quantity: 10000-20000 pieces, high mold cost.
